Change from PAYG electricity key to ordinary account charges

Hi Everyone
I have just bought a house and the previous occupier had a PAYG key. I just topped this up but want to change to a standing order plan of some sort. Southern Electric (the key issuer) say I have to pay £52 to do this and that all other electricity suppliers will charge the same. I wondered whether this is the case. Also I wondered whether I might be able to start a with a new company and get some sort of freeby as I seem to remember cases of wine etc being offered recently but couldn't seem to find any now. Thanks for any help and advice
