USA Medical bills HELP

Hello
Hope someone can help, had a problem in America about 9 months ago, which meant I ended up in a medical centre.
My insurance company are refusing to pay as the problem was a past problem that I have suffered before. And this was a clause in the insurance contract, in the small print.
I ended up having a anxiety attack the day before the flight. And I thought I was dying lol.
I have had a few letters from the medical centre over the 9 months but they have stopped over the past few months. I have not replied to any of the letters nor have I got in contact with them since my insurance company refused to pay the bill.
Can someone tell me what will happen if I do not pay the $13000!!!!:mad: Dollars, can they force me to pay it? Will I be banned from America? Will it affect my credit history in this country??
Many thanks
Barry

"in the small print" is still in the conditions of your insurance, small print, big print, doesn't matter, it forms part of your conditions and as a result you should have read and fully understood them - that's just how the world works, there's not really a nice way of putting it. As for the bill, well, ultimately if they chose to go after you (and well, at $13k they probably will) then it will become an issue for you to handle and they may seek to take you to court for non-payment, if i were you i'd check my home insurance policies to see if you have any legal protection (some offer initial consultation cover) and speak to a lawyer to find out where you stand here, because it could wind up being a very expensive mistake on your end.

i read a thread on an american forum a few years ago from a medical insurance company or something similiar in florida, who advised everyone to have proper insurance and not to think they could leave the country and not pay hospital bills. i think they employ debt collectors in the UK and also not paying your bill could mean entry into the USA being cancelled. it could have been the dibb or orlando villa forums, as they are the 2 florida sites i used to go on a lot. hopefully you should be able to find it by putting a search on these 2 sites or ask the regulars on them sites for advice. hth!
    Just about to give up!

    The short answer is no.
It's a civil not a criminal matter so your right to travel to the US won't be affected.
It won't affect your credit history in the UK.
And they won't pursue you in the UK for $13K as in medical bills terms it is small beer.
    Relax.
