Tenency Deposit Scheme

As I'm leaving my privately rented flat next month I've started thinking about my deposit. When I took this flat they told me that my deposit had been put in a tenancy deposit scheme and that I don't need to worry about it as it's protected. Maybe I was a bit stupid but I just took their word for it and haven't really thought about it until now. I just did some research and found that my deposit is indeed protected by one of the companies although it doesn't tell me the amount. I tried to call them but they're not open until Monday. On their website it also says that they provide the agency with a deposit protection certificate and that it should be signed by the agency and myself and that I should receive a copy of this certificate, this should all be done within 14 days of me paying the deposit. I never received any such certificate or indeed any other information such as the circumstances under which the landlord will be able to retain some or all of the deposit. Will this effect me getting my deposit back? I would be grateful for any advice.

Yes you should have been sent details within 14 days, but I wouldn't worry too much. The fact that the deposit is registered with a scheme is the important thing. It is highly unlikely the agency only registered part of the deposit.
Some duff agencies fail to register, but I've never heard of (nor see the point of) part registration.
stop worrying and check on Monday.0
