Free coin counting - London area

I tried out a free coin counting machine in Metro Bank today and am now £80 richer. These machines are free to use, and charge no commission. Seem to work pretty well, if a bit noisy. There are plenty of staff on hand to help if needed.
The machine prints a receipt which can be exchanged for cash, or deposited into a Metro Bank account, if you have one, but not into another banks account.
These machines appear to be in all of their 8 London area branches? Branches open 7 days a week and for longer than your average bank day.

No, I don't work for them, but have found this a good way to turn my old coins into usable cash.:T

Obviously far better than the machines in supermarkets that charge an extortionate percentage for this, and worth bearing in mind that other banks do this too, I know HSBC do it in some branches. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

That's very useful information. Thank you.0

Great! I thought I was destined to lose my whatever-stupid-percentage the coinstar machines steal (sorry) charge!
Theres a Metro Bank not far from me, will be using them in the future!0 -

My local Morrison's has cash feed in at the DIY checkout, zero commission, just pays for your shopping as you feed the coins inEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

What's wrong with counting the coins at home yourself and placing them in bags then taking them to the bank? It's what I've always done. :-|0

I guess it is just that it is time-consuming, especially I would imagine if you have 400quids worth!
If a machine can do it for you for free, then why not take advantage0 -

I'd hate to be standing behind you if you decide to pay for a big weekly shop in pennies.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
