Wedding gifts from parents?

We wouldn't expect anything from any of our guests.
My mum has given me my wedding dress, and MrD's parents are giving him his suit.

my parents paid for most of the reception and flowers at my wedding so i wouldnt expect anything off them and had budgeted to pay for that myself, however they have said they will buy my babys pram as a combination wedding present/house warming present/keeping my baby equal financially with their other grandchild. my parents are BIG on keeping things financiallly even between me and my brother. Its up to them if they buy things or not but im not going to argue with them if they do give us anything as they can more than afford it.
OH's parents gave us £150 in a card after the wedding and offered us his 26 + year old cot and original mattress which i declined. they can afford more but they choose not to buy big presents so its up to them, but they are more than willing to help out with DIY and helped us move house a few months ago.0 -
My parents have contributed towards cost of a fair bit of the wedding.

Just wondering - what did you receive/what do you expect your parents to give you as a wedding gift in the UK?
We didn't expect anything from DH's parents but we received a cheque towards our honeymoon. My parents would find it difficult as they are no longer alive.0 -
floss2 how sweet, lol xxxAccept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)0
