Hi all,
Just wondering - what did you receive/what do you expect your parents to give you as a wedding gift in the UK?

From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

I'm not expecting anything, both sets have contributed to the wedding fund, for which we are more than grateful!

I'm not expecting anything from them. I'm not sure what they would buy us actually. If they asked I think i'd be a stumped to think of anything.
If you have a gift list maybe show them that, seems a bit cheeky though.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Nothing my mum and dad have paid for the cake,my veil and all alterations to dress and bridesmaids dresses
OH's mum and step dad are giving money towards the wedding plus FIL is a photographer and doing the pics for nothing0 -
We expected nothing from our parents, but both said they wished to give us some money. We didnt want cash, so asked them to pay for specific things at the wedding of the amount they wished to give us. We were concerned any money would just disappear into the pot never to be seen again. This way they knew what exactly their gift had gone towards.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0

My Mum and stepdad paid for our photographer and my Dad gave us quite a few quid towards the wedding.
He also got us a few hundred euro's too for our honeymoon.
We got some cash in our wedding card from my husbands parents.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I don't expect anything, it's poor etiquette to expect a gift. My parents have contributed to the wedding fund and his haven't got much money but if they get us something small from our registry, where we made sure to register for lots of reasonably priced stuff, that would be nice but not necessary. I think if the parents are putting money and effort into the wedding that definitely counts as their gift!0

My parents paid for my dress and cars and H2Bs parents paid for us to go to Krakow on our honeymoon.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

my mum paid for my dress, the bridesmaid dresses & boleros and some other little bits, and also gave us £150 as a present to buy a chicken coop.
my dad gave us nothing, and OHs parents managed to summon the effort of posting a card0
