I looked into the FirstBuy scheme and when I checked the small wording it seemed to state you could only be eligible for the maximum amount. If you wanted a smaller mortgage you weren't allowed to - you had to have maximum debt or nothing.
Quite scary really to think of all those households maxed to the hilt and there's only one direction interest rates can go......0 -
