when Do I pay the Mortgage Deposit

We are in the middle of buying our first property and I just thought I should ask when we would be expected to pay our 15% deposit.Is it at exchange of contract or at completion? we are FTB.

Your solicitor will usually ask you for your deposit at exchange of contracts.0

You pay it to your solicitor on request. Normally it should be with him/her a few days before exchange.I am a mortgage broker.
