Clubcard vouchers/Florida holiday

I have approx £170 of clubcard vouchers and my husband has approx £20 worth. I have been saving for ages but really want to go next year to Florida, so I don't think it's worth me trying to book a holiday via Virgin/Cosmos (unless someone can tell me otherwise!)
Is there anything else the vouchers can be used for that would help fund a trip in Florida eg car hire/resort tickets etc?
I also have a different surname to my hubby, so is that a problem in terms of redeeming them together if required?
I have a load of BA miles that need using so I'm hoping that will sort the flight, although I know the fees are outrageous!

It's almost pointless to use BA miles to pay for an economy flight (unless it's booked at last minute when you are only offered full fare cash tickets). This is due (as you say) to the large component of taxes and surcharges on the tickets.
You are actually better to use your BA miles for upgrades (particularly if you book into economy plus (world traveller plus) and use miles to upgrade to business). You can still use miles to upgrade from economy to economy plus, but only from expensive economy tickets, making it less attractive.
50k miles gets you two upgrades to florida - however it's a popular route so you'd need to book in advance. You cannot use BA miles for anything else. However, if you have a flight booking with BA you can get some pretty good discounts on hotels and car hire if you add them to your flights. (Don't book a flight+hotel combinabtion as these cannot be upgraded with miles).
£170 clubcard vouchers is 34,000k BA miles - almost all you need for the upgrades - but you mention you already have some miles.
You'd need 200k BA Miles to book straight into business for two people return.Legal team on standby0 -
Hiya, We went on p&o cruise did panama canal & caribbean earlier on in year thanks to Mr Tesco, we just missed out on booking with virgin as it was that time when they changed the limit you could use, we had been saving vouchers for a few years when points were more easy to come by, me and OH put or points together for p&o we dont live together also have different names, i think so long as you are both using them for holidays days out you should ok.0

I was hoping to use my clubcard vouchers towards our Florida holiday too but when I looked into it the cost of the holiday was going to be so much more that it just wasn't worth it!
If anyone finds a way of buying attraction tickets with clubcard I would be one very happy bunny

Just an update to this thread. I used BA miles to purchase the flights so that left me with my clubcard vouchers.
I haven't done this yet, but I have read this at the DIBB forum. Exchange clubcard vouchers for Avios (special rate until the end of March of an extra 400 Avios points for every £2.50 clubcard voucher) and then by ringing Avios, you can spend them with a company called Attraction World to purchase tickets.
For every 10000 avios, you get £50 off a ticket. I will be trying it in a few days, so will let you know if it worked!MFiT-T3 Number 61 Reduce mortgage by £50000Mar 13 £5660/11.32% June 13 £12513/25.03% Sept 13 £16951/33.90% Sept 14 £38391/78.78% paid offMFiT-T2 Number 34 Reduce mortgage by £66471Dec 12 100% paid off!0 -
Ok deal done!
I rang Avios, who were very helpful. I had 90000 Avios to spend after exchanging my clubcard vouchers into Avios and combined with some I already had. This gave me £450 which I used towards two 14 Day Ultimate Walt Disney Tickets. These cost £530 so I had to put £80 towards them. Needing another two tickets I then bought them from a cheaper provider at a cost of £452, so total spend £532 for four adult WDW Ultimate tickets.
Avios uses the provider Attraction World for these sorts of tickets and there was a good choice of Kennedy Space Centre, Universal and loads of others. Hope this helps someone else.MFiT-T3 Number 61 Reduce mortgage by £50000Mar 13 £5660/11.32% June 13 £12513/25.03% Sept 13 £16951/33.90% Sept 14 £38391/78.78% paid offMFiT-T2 Number 34 Reduce mortgage by £66471Dec 12 100% paid off!0
