Travel Insurance - Mobile phone

I recently had a mobile (worth £300) stolen on holiday. My insurance company should cover it, but in the small print says any item over £50 needs a receipt.
I have the receipt, but the phone was technically free as it was part of a 24 month contract.
Question is, am I covered?

The phone isn't free because you will have to pay to get another one.
Have a proper look at your receipt - on my phone receipt it gives the price of the phone then it discounts it due to the contact so it costs me nothing.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
