ps3 wont play new games

i got my ps3 3 years ago and its worked fine but now it wont play black opps or gran tourismo 5,i even bought a blueray film and it wont play that either,funny thing is it plays all my other games fifa11,tiger the masters ect....i have also returned black opps 3 times hoping it was a faulty disc but still wont work,,,,,any help would be appreciated thank you

Get a CD/DVD cleaner and shove that through the machine. It could also be the laser on its way out - it'll play DVD discs fine but not Blu-Ray films and high capacity game discs.

Are you running an up to date version of the firmware? Some newer games need a firmware update to play, but I'd always assumed they told you that rather than just not loading.

You need to update the firmware if the recent releases arent playing,do you have access to PSN

Could be you need a new Laser in your PS3 very common for them to wear out.

Not sure if I can post links to someone who can help if you dont want to open it up and install one yourself.

thanks for all the help guys,done all updates and cleaned all disc also done the dvd cleaner disc but alas still not playin black opps,thnx again
