I received a £50 voucher for Sta Travel which I thought should be shared with the MSE community, it's a pretty nice save if you're booking with them anyway.

Got the voucher, thanks. It says you must tell them at the start of the enquiry that you have the voucher. Is that so they can add it on before they take it off - or am I just cynical?0

Haha that's a good point! I haven't tried it yet as my dates won't be available for another few weeks. My plan was to check for flights online first so I can pick them up on price differences. If it's a real discount though, it's pretty great.Debts Next, £514 ~ Overdraft, £1100Funds America Pot, £1910 ~ Car Tax Pot, £49.450

hey, thats great about the voucher I will do that in a min.
Just wanted to let you know that when you call to book flights with STA like I did recently you hear a message at the start of the call saying if the person doesn't offer you travel insurance before they take card payment then they will offer you it for free.
They took my card payment for my flight without offering insurance and then after I asked about that and they guy seemed a bit humpy as he forgot and then yep I got free basic travel insurance which says it cost £40.
Also make sure you search online at STA for the flights as on the phone he quoted me £15 more than the online price so then I asked for them to match it as I could have just booked it online so they did.

Just booked today over the phone and they did take the £50 off for me. Got a great bargain on flights even without the extra £50 taken off so I am a happy girl this evening! The first quote they gave me without the voucher was around £60 cheaper than the price I had online to begin with. I had to forward the email to the lady whilst I was on the phone but that took 2 seconds.Debts Next, £514 ~ Overdraft, £1100Funds America Pot, £1910 ~ Car Tax Pot, £49.450

Thanks for this. Have just booked flights using the voucher so am v happy! Just in case others were planning on using the voucher its worth being persistent as I had to ring up 3 different times to get the same price as the website and to be able to use the voucher. But its a great saving.0

Dont forget, they also have a price match guarantee.
B4 hand, compare the STA website prices with https://www.traveljungle.co.uk and https://www.travelsupermarket.com0 -
They do price match, but they consider this to be an 'offer' and the £50 voucher says in t and cs that it cannot be used with any other offer. Also, the phone/store prices (at least the ones I was quoted) were at least £30+ more expensive than the website price. The reason they gave for this was that it each flight booking costs them more do it in store/by phone (overheads etc I guess.) I did, eventually, get the website price and the £50 discount...0

Just rang up STA and they tell me its only for students doesn't say so on the voucher. Has any mature non-student been able to use it, please?
Update - they will now accept it but the price is now £53 more!CHEAP IN COST NOT IN STYLE...0 -
Super frustrated! Have tried to use this 50 off voucher but the consultant's seem to be confused.
I called and was told I have to come into store even though it clearly states I can do it via the telephone so I emailed it to him and he still states I need to come to store. I then asked via the online chat and I was told I can use it on the phone.:(
Surely the company would honour what it states on the voucher?0
