How to close forgotten Nationwide accounts ??

Options
I discovered rescently that I have 2 open nationwide accounts on my credit report that i didnt know about. I'm guessing they were opened when i was a child (im now 24) and there is no money in them. I have no cards or passbooks for them, dont even know the account numbers and they are still registered at my address from 5 years ago.

will these be affecting my credit score? and is there anyway to close them down without proof of address and the account number?

thanks! :j

If they are on your credit report they are not savings accounts.
They will be bank accounts. The credit report should tell you what type of account it is.
Credit reports do not list savings accounts or tell you the balance of bank accounts so it is not possible to say there is no money in an account by looking at the credit report.

Call Nationwide or go in to a branch. If there is literally no money in them I am surprised they have not been closed already, I thought most banks did this after a certain length of time.
