BEWARE DABS ALERT!
USING DABS WILL COST YOU!
If something goes wrong - and a LOT does - then you will be waiting several weeks for resolution.
THE SO CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE IS JOKE!
WEEKS WILL PASS BEFORE A CREDIT NOTE IS ARRANGED.
THEN
WEEKS WILL PASS AS THEY SIT ON THE REFUND.
A BT OWNED COMMUNICATION/CUSTOMER SERVICE BLACK SPOT!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I've used Dabs a few times and have never had any problems...0

Dabs' main purpose is to supply businesses who are usually not desperate for a quick refund.
What the OP says is true in that if you cannot afford to wait for a refund then Dabs is not your best choice.
If you are not desperate to get a refund very quickly if something goes wrong they are a reasonable choice. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Dabs actually went downhill long before BT got involved.
It started when they decided that customers were really too much of a nuisance to deal with and removed all telephone numbers from the site. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I remember that, it was about that time i decided that dabs were too much of a nuisance to use.
Back in the late 90's/early00's they were great, I remember ordering a hard drive from them that was out of stock, and spotting a couple of hours later (at about 10pm) that they had the "retail boxed" version for just a pound more in stock, and giving them an email asking for the order to be amended and getting a reply about 30 minutes later to say they had done so.
I don't think I've used them in about 4-5 years now.0
