Hi, I just updated firefox to 6.0 and it didn,t support avast webrep, which I deem quite good. Also WOT, another similar item seems to have been disabled, along with certain other programs belonging to java.Has anyone else using 6.0 had the same happen, and is there a firefox compatable program available?.No probs with 6.0, runs fine, just miss the Green sign, knowing the site is ok..cheers

Just give it a week and most will be back to working, just the nature of quick and unnecessary version updates.

In the meantime you can use something like Norton DNS.

It is because it is listed as compatible up to 5.* so it is going to cause problems...And since it doesn't change until there is a program update, you may have to wait a little...

  • +1 For Norton DNS, personally I would stick with that and not bother with Webrep, you may also find that Norton DNS is faster than your current/default ISP DNS :).

Hi, Thanks everyone. Put norton on, but it doesn, t display an icon like webrep or wot, but is in the tray. Does it just notify you when the site is not rated or risky? The wot icon is still there, gives a judgement of page if hovered, but not green. As you say, probably will in time.

The warnings will be in the browser, and it'll prevent the bad page from loading.

Well you don't need any software installed for it to work - it just replaces your ISP DNS, with Norton's DNS. It means when you go to www.moneysavingexpert.com, Norton is the one that resolves it to an address instead of your ISP.

    All the overhead is external.

Norton is said to be one of the best for anti-phishing, i.e. it'll warn you if you go to a banking page that isn't really your bank.
