Hi everyone ive been away for a little while, When i had my LB moment we had 2 loans and 3 cc's well were down to one loan and one card now :j we were really luck in some ways as got some PPI back but have also been budgeting really well too including cancelling mobiles and sky (which now we done even miss as for a treat we go out to the pics with discount codes from this site too) i have also budgeted for xmas and birthdays were even having a little holiday which is all paid for already. I had never lived like this before i joined this site and there was times when we were struggling and id see someones post like this and it would make me feel like it can be done so it will pay off eventually!!!
before
CC1 - £600
CC2 - £500
CC3 - £1000
Loan - £2000
Loan2 - £4200
= £8300
Now
CC - £453.77
Loan - £3187
= £3640.77
I know we still have a way to go but i feel so certain now that we can do it where as before i was so sure i would fail.

Well done for your fantastic progress and thank you for sharing it with us.
Yes, you still have a little way to go, but you must be feeling so proud of yourself, you've clearly been working so very hard!!
I know what you mean, it does feel different living life the MSE way, however, it's a GOOD different. I never thought that by playing some of the challenges they would help me to get so organised or focused and so completely aware of every single penny that goes in and out of my life!
Now, instead of 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' I'm happy to say 'No' to things or wait for them or look for ways to earn any extra money. The children are happier too now as everything has become so clear-cut. :T
My life's so much simplier now.
Best of Luck,

Thanks Im looking to get rid of this last card for now so looking for some challenges at the moment as i remember there used to be some good ones around. Ive learnt the art of planning, lists, diarys, meal plans, spread sheets and knowing exactly how much is in the bank. I just wished id known it years ago.Living the simple life0

Yes, me too!
But it does take that Light Bulb Moment to wake up all of your senses to becoming MSE. Plus, like me, I've been happily plodding along doing my very best (well, what I thought was my very best) and then you discover this website and realise that you were nowhere close and could have become debt-free ages ago! (Oh well, you live and learn!)
But still, it just makes me more determined to hone my skills (via this website and attempting the challenges) to without fail become debt-free by this Christmas.
I have never posted anything on Ebay before (I don't know why) but I'm gonna change all of that now and do whatever it takes to clear this burden I've created, then NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Well done on getting the debt down so much! :j You're my inspiration for the day! I'm having a good crack at my debt this month as it wasn't going down quickly enough, and so far by selling things on eBay and a £100 payment for recycling my old mobile when I upgraded my contract I've managed to pay an extra £250 off my credit card. It goes to show what can be achieved when you put your mind to it!
Good luck with the rest of the journey to becoming debt freeDFW by end of June 2016...! LBM June 2011
