Mally Make up

i went with mineral brushes (only because it was for mineral make up and it seemed the best choice!). i have two that are great, plus a small one that came with the blemish kit that is also great. just had a look at the site and i think everything i've bought has come from the studio or mineral ranges apart from the facial whip and one type of tinted moisturiser - more luck than judgement. (oh apart from the nail varnish which is fab!):happyhear0

amyb - yaaaay I'm so glad you bought something and good for me thats its the products I was interested in;) seriously though please do come back and tell me what you really think, I wont order till I hear from you:) Wasnt the show good? I loved how the woman who owns the company looked:)
She always looks good; and makes the application look simple.
I need super long wear make up and thats what Mally promotes her whole range to be and everything i have used so far has been so high hope.
Will report back.
BTW i don't like the elf foundations or tinted moisturiser - partly because i can't get a good colour match, but its so cheap its worth a go.
If you 'like' their facebook page they quite often have 20% off or free product codes.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
Well after a few days of wearing my Mally face kit I think I’m ready to give feedback.
I bought this kit when it was TSV; Mally 3 Piece Flawless Face Collection.
There are a lot of mixed reviews on the site; with massively different opinions. As I mentioned previously I like Mally products and have tried a few so was quite excited to get the kit.
As with all Mally products it was presented well, in the usual pink and Mally branding. Everything looked really classy (although I can see the compact getting a bit bashed up if kept in a bag).
The collection contained primer, solid cream foundation and powder (or skin finisher as Mally doesn’t advocate powder!) a kabuki and a chunky sponge to apply the foundation.
Perfect Prep Primer.
I don’t normally buy primers; as I find with dry skin I don’t need them; buy thought I’d give this a go.
It went on really nicely; and left my skin looking really smooth and provided a nice base, BUT I have open pores on my nose and I felt it did nothing to cover them at all. I will continue to use it up as I find I need less foundation but probably won’t repurchase (especially at £37.00 a pot).
It was actually nicer under my usual foundation (Revlon Colourstay tam) than the Mally one.
Ultimate Performance Professional Foundation
I went for the lightest shade and was a little worried as I looked incredibly dark in the pan. On my face though it matches my fair ‘English rose’ skin perfectly. The coverage is quite minimal though, more tinted moisturiser that foundation. I have pretty even blemish free skin so I didn’t use concealer but I don’t think it would cover much in the way of blemishes or pigmentation. I like the flawless heavier look I get from my current foundation though but that’s my choice it doesn’t necessarily look better. I also prefer to apply a liquid as like to use my fingers rather than a sponge or brush (mainly due to be too lazy to wash them after every use)
I’m keeping the set so will use this occasionally; I would have liked to keep in handbag for touch-ups or on-the-move makeup but unfortunately the compact isn’t big enough to fit a sponge in.
Poreless Perfection Skin Finisher
I love this product so much; yes it is messy as goes everywhere but it really makes my skin look all sift focus as even. It is so finely milled and goes on the skin really easier; and I found it lasted all day.
It is a one colour only product; and there have are reviews on the QVC site with people saying it makes them really pale, but in think the trick it to apply very lightly. I used a much larger headed softer brush than the one supplied as I found the finish better. The one supplied is too dense for loose powder.
I am only 30; and don’t really have any wrinkles so can’t comment on how the powder will deal with older skin
In summary I am pretty happy for the kit at the price I paid. The only product I would like to purchase again is the powder but as it retails alone for 37.50 I can probably like without it bearing in mind I only paid that for the entire kit as TSV price.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
Thanks you so much amyb:T thats exactly the type of review I was hoping for, on reflection I don't think I'll bother, its interesting because Revlon Colourstay is one of the foundations I rotate with others regularly and its probably my favourite so if your not getting that sort of cover it wouldn't interest me, as you seem to like the same look I do is there another brand you use regularly? I'm a maybelline fan and I'm in search of Revlon mineral make up atm, choice is rather limited where I live, I do like EL and Mac foundations but my skin hates them, I don't use primers, I prefer to mix my foundation with whatever I think I need that day, for example wrinkle filler or maybe brightener so I wouldn't need that either.
The powder sounds interesting but I would be wary as I do have much older skin than you (I'm 43) I also have oily skin so I wonder how effective it would be at controlling that, hmmm, the price is prohibitive too:(
Gosh I sound so negative:o Thanks again for the fab review, you can take it as good karma that you saved me lots of money;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
Sorry if the review was a bit negative; its weird because i am glad i bought the kit but wouldn't really recogmend it. (and TBH sorta glad about that too and bloody expensive compared to what i pay.)
I usually use one of a number of Maybelline or Max Factor foundations; but i bought the Revlon CS after your many recomentationd and really like it. Powder wise i normally use a very light dusting of any super cheap pressed translucent power. I find more expensive powders and lose powders are more coloured and make me look dirty. The Mally skin finisher has no colour so probably why i like it. If you look at the reviews on the Q site someone might say how the powder is on oily skin - everyone i've read just comments on the cakiness and ghostface which i didn't feel.
If you ever get the chance try some of her other make-up as i really love the mascara and eyeshadow (and base). But keep you eyes out for try-me set or TSV as the prices are much better and a good way to try things at one postage price.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
