Urgent help re rights to return car

Can someone please help me? Basically, I bought a Mazda 5 two weeks ago and it has already been back in the garage with some problems. The garage says they can't find any faults and now, to top it all off the battery has died. I want to return the car for a refund and just wondered if anyone here can help me with advice on this or point me in the right direction. I know there is a 30 day guarantee on my car (Mazda put this in place) but the garage haven't told me the conditions. I should point out that I phoned the garage yesterday to tell them I am still having problems and they said they would arrange for the car to be picked up and checked out but I havent heard back from them since.
The problems are:-

intermittent clunking noise when in low gear and resistance in acceleration
steering wheel shuddering at 50mph
power door sometimes fails
fog light slipped and wont go back in
slow puncture
(dead battery)

Please can someone advise asap what my legal rights are as I just feel I paid a lot of money for this car and I just want my money back!

  • How old is the car? How many miles are on it? What did you pay for it?

Used vehicles aren't expected to be 'as new' but they should be a reasonable quality for the age/mileage etc.

If there's any concern that the vehicle may be unsafe/not road worthy then your best bet may be to contact trading standards who can have the vehicle checked out and help take a case forward to get your money back if it isn't road worthy. I'm not a car person but I'd be concerned about a shudder on the steering wheel at 50mph!
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

There aren't really any conditions as the car you bought isn't fit for purpose.

The steering wheel judder could be a number of things from the weights to balance a wheel that's fallen off, to a bent wheel to something more serious or just needs the tracking doing.
Battery could be a duff alternator or just not been tightened properly.

Mazda have a 30 day guarantee on their used cars which says that you can exchange your car or, if a suitable exchange cant be found, get a refund providing certain conditions are met. These are the conditions I meant (but the garage haven't explained them to me) but I am wondering if I should just bypass this and go straight to my legal rights.

I'd find it's easier to just tell them that i'm not happy and lost confidence in it as i've only had it two weeks and there's an issue that they can't locate. If they don't play ball i'll throw in the legal rights; if you were the sales person, how would you like somebody to ask you for a refund?

Correct, but they are expected to be of merchantable quality and fit for purpose.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

You need to give them an opportunity to repair.
