Most people use Gmail for security; only real issue with them is they scan your emails in order to better target advertising. It's a creepy world they're helping to build.

I usually add a sentence about a random subject at the start and end of emails that I send to friends (they do the same), messes up the targeted ads a bit :D

Careful though, these 'streams of consciousness' may be more revealing than you realise!

Well we tend to use things we've read about or seen recently - quite fun actually. So for instance today, an email I received from a friend started with the Will & Kate exclusive dolls from Hamleys and finished with something about Spanish footballers going on strike... I found inspiration in the adverts from the free local paper to include my reply.

Do you get any corresponding change in the types of ads you get? :) Or are you using something like Adblock?

I've leant to pretty much not see them... just actually bothered to look at them and I do have some totally random stuff in there, like solar panels, Xmas party venue finder and Royal Albert Hall tickets :rotfl:

Edit: also found Peru holidays, guesthouse in Tokyo, R4 Clinical Plus ("the worlds most advanced dental practice management software" apparently) so yes, it's definitely confusing the system :D

Haha. Well when Google Analytics becomes self-aware, let's just hope it enjoyed you being difficult ;) I try not to earn the ire of pre-sentient machines.
