Dont know where to start or where to turn ..

I am a mom of 2 a recent new addition(17 weeks old)...i worked up to the early part of my pregnancy doing casual work cleaning etc /childcare then ilness struck..i had a extreme form of morning sickness and then developed gestational diabetes...was hospialised on and off..my partners work was cut down due to i had two credit cards before i was pregnant that i was paying (still am)a next account and a store card my debt comes to about 5,000 pounds or slighty over. As i havent worked all my savings pay the debts and the cards i have used to pay for groceries and christams (cut down drastically).

I cant go any more I have no savings left to pay the debts....i get 105 a week in child tax credit and family allowance..i pay the groceries school dinners all clothing and child needs my own little pension and the poll tax

My partnes is only bringing in about 250 a week at the moment that just about covers the mortgage utilities car/ins..and household bills literally nothing left he does odd jobs to bring more money in.

I dont sleep at night i am tetchy i cry all the time dread the phone going HATE the post arriving and dont know what to do where to go because i have no money apart from about 10 pounds a week if i scrimp to pay debts and that goes nowhere near to what they want.

I have thought about speaking to them but i am so scared and embaasedi guess humilitaed as well, please tell me some advice of who can i turn to one agency on here i filleda online form in and they said they couldnt help as there was no money (credit consumer cousel)..

Please is there anyon out there i want to get this sorted and do something posotive so i can breathe again.

thanks for taking the time to listen

Hello there, well firstly you've definately come to the right place.

There are many on here who will be able to give you some good advice.

My bit would be to try to relax and do whatever that means to stop feeling so stressed. If that means switching off the phone for a few days then do it because whilst you feel so low you won't be able to think straight.

Sending you this as you sound like you need one:grouphug:

Are you able to get a 0% credit card and put all your store cards onto that as the interest on these must be high?

    Good luck.

Also when you are feeling ready to it may help if you post an SOA (tips on the sticky about it) and let the experts on here have a look at areas where you may be able to save money.

I don't know how familiar you are with MSE but there are loads of great, helpful boards especially Money Saving Old Style who have brilliant ideas on how to make meals from virtually nothing as well as tips on money saving stuff.

Just hang on in there and someone will come along soon with some more support and advice.

hello big hug to you, you made the first step by admitting you have a problem. i hope you are ok, when i had my 2nd son it took me 2 years to get over having him as i had bad post natal depression, this made me panic more about money. i started a evening job when i had my 1st just to pay some bills off, ifirst rip all your cards up, just try and pay minium what you can. dont cancel any dd or else you will get further behind. be a card tart and transfer some to 0%. cant think at the mo, thinking of you, its not easy with little ones.... if i think of anything i will post it, sign up as a mystery shooper ive have 3 in a month. got 2 monday and you can take the kids with you...........
i will be debt free, i will

Sorry me again, have you had any charges from the credit cards for late payments or bank charges, if so then you can claim them back, going back 6 years so if you have nbeen stung by these charges at least there is some good news if it applies.

God sorry me again again, must try to gather my thoughts before I keep posting, right are you a member of Pigsback?
If not info is here, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=330684

read the first 2 posts explains it all, basically you get free piggypoints for clicking on their adverts and extras for answering quiz questions, when you get say 1000 piggypoints you can order vouchers from their rewards section. These include waitrose so for future shopping its a thought.

  • Concentrate on looking after your family and your household bills ! Forget your cards for the time being, theres nothing they can really do for a total of £5000. I,ve been fighting against banks etc for the past three years for £69000 being self employed and nearly cracked it now. Live for your family, dont argue with your husband and love you kids !! Thats how i've got through it all. If you need any advice ask !! I know cos its been hard for us too. Cheer up !!

v quick as am meant to be going to bed
    1) have you claimed your child benefit for your new arriva
    2) have you got working families tax credit?
    3) have you applied for council tax rebate if your money is so low?
    4) have you seen your GP to see if you have post natal depression, and also that the diabetes has not become permanent.
will do more in the morning, but if you can post a Statement Of Affairs then that will help us target our help to you.
If you are reading this at 1 in the morning GO TO BED:D :D

Another quick bump, and, altho I'm not one of the experts that can help, wondering if it could help to go see the local Citizens Advice Bureau as well as your doctor?

    Lots of hugs.
