NRAM refunds

Hi,
Can anyone help? I recieved a letter from NRAM in June telling me that my complaint has been upheld with the offer of a full refund of £3,300. I signed the acceptance and sent it back straight away. The letter stated that i should expect my refund within 28 days. I had heard nothing since so i phoned them today, they agreed that the 28 days started on the 1st July and said the reason for the delay is due to a back log of claims. Do you think this is acceptable? should i just forget it and wait for the day it may eventually arrive or do they have timescales to pay out, should do something else?
Thanks for your help

Its more a case of it being inevitable rather than acceptable. They are just suffering a massive volume and dont have the resources to be quicker.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Got our payout from Northern Rock in the bank today which was due on 18th July. Have called every week to chase it - not sure if that made a difference or not.0
