PPI on Natwest Loan; Claim in Progress

Hi
I submitted a PPI claim to Natwest on 24/5/11. (For info; I already cancelled the PPI last year, the loan was taken out in May 2007 for £25k which they told me wouldn't be accepted unless I had the PPI)
They promptly replied on 6/6/11 to say they had received my complaint and would write to me in 4 weeks.
True to their word, they replied with about 3 days to spare on 20/6/11 saying they were still investigating and would write to me in a further 4 weeks, which being lenient would have been 22/7/11.
Now I hadn't heard from them so wrote to them on 08/8/11 saying that I was expecting a reply and still as of today 18/8/11 have heard nothing.
My question is, should I write to them again threatening with the Ombudsman or should I give them some more time?
Thank you

Hi there
I would try to bear with it a little longer, due to backlogs and maybe the post have been delayed, give them a ring tomorrow if nothing comes in the post, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I too submitted a claim to Natwest on 17 May for £24500, like you I have received several letters saying they are investigating my claim. I have been told they have up to 16 weeks to look into this which I make that they have up until 5 Sep so I would wait a couple of weeks before going to the Ombudsman.Hi
