Santander shares - is now the time?

We have 1169 shares in Santander and many people are saying sell now. But given they're at their lowest value in years right now is it the right time to get out or should we wit for a possible rise?

Theyre currently sitting at around 5.60

Any help would be gratefully received!

  • They pay enough dividend that you shouldnt worry about a rise just holding steady would be fine. If they can afford to pay the dividend yield then its one of the best paying shares I know of

I did buy some today and STD in New York shows they are ok for the moment.
The overall market will be cresting white waves for years to come, dont bet on the storm passing easily. I think they are in growing markets as well as some nasty debts, should balance out

They hold spanish government debt, I think its about 20bn.

They r traded on the spanish stock exchange and yours r probably held in Santander nominee account like mine. We have to rely on them to trade the shares and the prices will fluctuate by the time they act on the instruction. Not sure about selling though?
What is the procedure to buy or sell?

    Thanks

If you can hold them I suggest you do, selling in a market slump isn't a good idea. Even if they never get back to the high you have seen, you will still make more if you wait for the next recovery run.
