Because of the condensation issues, I think even the manufacturers recommend that they are only used as secondary heating. In addition to central heating, for example.
  • I had a flueless gas fire fitted a few years ago and its the best decision I made. Saves loads of money, heats up the room and rest of house and works great. Mine has an open flame with no glass or filters and cost more than others on the market but you get what you pay for. It was made in the UK also.

    Advice:
Check Room Size as they have a minimum room size.
Fit a good quality air vent then you will not get any dafts.
Make sure the vent is the correct "free air volume" for the fire.
Make sure a good quality gas safe engineer fits the fire and shows you how to operate the fire before he leaves.

Most good quality gas safe engineers wouldn't ever entertain fitting one of these for any amount of money. We all have to be trained in fitting and maintaining these nowadays for our fire's ticket, but just choose not to.

Why do I get the feeling you work for a flueless death trap manufacturer?

I had one fitted in previous house, where I removed chimney breast & installed flueless fire on different wall. Made sure I got the correct vent fitted for the fire & thought it was great...... it did what it said on the tin..Had no issues with it to be honest
