Helicopter flight Non refund

Hi All,

Mrs got me a Helicopter flight for my 40th in May - booked direct with the helipcopter company.

The first flight was booked for June, and they cancelled. The next available flight was booked for this Sunday - Aug 20th, and again they have cancelled.

They have now offered a september flight date but what going to be a summer flight is now turning into an early Autumn flight and frankly, ive lost faith.

ive had enough and have asked for a refund based on them not meeting agreed dates, however they are saying that terms and conditions say i cant have a refund. Surely ive given them enough time to fulfil the contract?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jim

What do the written terms and conditions state about cancellations and refunds?

These get a bad press in the consumer rights columns in the papers. They seem to continually cancel due to weather or whatever to the point that the flight can't ever be claimed in a realistic timeframe. The good news is that people who've been prepared to dig their heels in and pursue a refund seem to be successful. Argue that they've been given ample opportunity to fulfil the contract in a 'reasonable time' and are failing to do so. Try the usual route - i.e. recorded delivery letter asking for full refund within, say, 14 days, then a 'letter before action' and the threat of small claims court.

  • Fluff,

That sounds a good place to start.

    Many thanks
