Its gone and is not coming back. It has been replaced by their new and somewhat controversial "Basic Account"Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0

Yep it's been replaced by the Basic account, bear in mind the new ATM restrictions as the old Step account didn't have any - it's not simply a name change.0

Not quite. It didn't work in Morrisons Pay@Pump (because it was an "online" card). Personally I thought that was a bigger drawback and discrimination than losing Link will prove.
But I don't recall consumer quangos critical comment about *that* discrimination.0 -

Apologies, I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out.0 -
Ok thanks very much.
I suppose that leaves me with co-op or barclays then?!

I'm not 100% sure. This "online only" functionality is not well referrred to in Terms and Conditions. I also know that Visa Electron (for all its "electronic use only") and once upon a time may have been good for booking Ryanair, but its still not good for some train operators ticket machines.
Why are the so-called consumer organisations so silent on that, which I suggest for many is more inconvenient than selecting the correct ATM in the High Street.0
