Advice Please !!

Options
I inadvertantly parked in one of the 'private car parks' out side Pizza hut in cardiff and went to a neighbouring establishment who advised me of my mistake and i promptly got out of there (less then 15 minutes)....however 2 days letter a Parking invoice for parking and Not using the facilities of the appropriate traders with an invitation to pay a sliding scale of charges

I have taken the advice of esteemed forumites and decided Not to pay nor acknowledge the document.

However the question that bugs me is What happens if i fancy a pizza and park in that car park or any other monitored by these people ? Can they clamp me or tow me away or do any other dastardly things for not paying for the original 'offence' ?

Any advice greatfully received.

It is unlikely that they would, and it would be illegal.

Who is to say that you didn't go "off site" to look for a cashpoint in order to buy a pizza?

If that branch of Pizza Hut are prepared to condone the harrassment and bullying tactics that PPCs use, I would suggest that if you do fancy a pizza in the future you take your business elsewhere rather than give them your money.

It would be unlawful to seize goods for an alleged debt without a court order.

If I had bought a faulty TV from Currys and they wouldn't refund me for some reason, I would have to take them to court. PC Plod would not take kindly to me walking in and taking a telly because I was of the opinion they owed me money.
