Fun call from a debt collector

Hi all,

Might not be fitting to laugh but......

I had a great conversation with a debt collection agency today. They started shouting about making me bankrupt etc and asked for my solicitors details (oh yeah, like we all have a solicitor in the cupboard!)

I said 'whatever' and went to finish the call. The caller said I did not seem very concerned about this - to quote

"People in your situation often feel they have nothing to loose, but tend to regret it when they are proved wrong"

"Well I haven’t got anything" I reply.

"Your wrong" she shouts triumphantly, "what about your mobile phone that we are speaking on now"

"Brilliant!" I exclaim, "I tell you what, I'll send you my £20 pay as you go mobile, and you write off my £26,000 debt"

She hung up. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

All the best

Sometimes you have to laugh at the muppets that these co's employ. Yes you are having money problems but that doesn't mean these people have the right to talk to you like dirt.

Good on you for standing up for yourself.

For me, that would be my two year old £20 mobile! :D

Unless they wanted the three year old one that the cash-in-your-mobile site offered me £2.90 for, which I decided was worth more to me as a backup.

Oh that made me laugh - well done. I had a similar call the other day asking if I could pay £300-odd off by debit or credit card. "Well I don't have either" I said.
Cue conversation about me sending a cheque on February 1st alongside the Direct debit also paying them as well, to which the numpty said "so you're paying by debit card......."
And then topped it off by adding would I be paying two direct debits?" I ended up cackling like a hyena down the phone - if I didn't I'd have cried to be honest!
I ended up ordering the bloke to pick up a pen and a bit of paper, asked him to write down what I would say next.
"I'll - be -paying-you-by-chequuuuue" really slowly like I was talking to an idiot.
    Which I was....lol
