At work we make five or six cups of tea at tea break and up until recently we were using one cup teabags, but due to trying to moneysave at home I bought a tea pot for work and are now using only normal tea bags there, so in all saving quite a bit, plus there is always some left for another cuppy!
Hope you find your Auld Tammies cooking-mama, we have toorie bonnets here!!!Every days a School day!0 -
When I was in wilko's yesterday thay had some really cute little teapots- I cant remember how much they were but under a tenner for sure! may be worth a look!....
I may have to go and buy one now I love the idea of making pots of tea and instant refills- especially if its as cold as it was yesterday!!
Good luck with your hunt

I love tea in a teapot my family find it odd that I still make tea that way. Tea just in a mug doesn't taste right. I've got a brown earthenware pot I've had for years. Does me for 2 cups in the morning and any leftover hot water I put in a thermos for coffee later in the morning.0

jannieannie I do that too, I dont drink tea but my kids do, I fill up the teapot make my coffe and any left over hot water goes in the flask then I have instant hot water for more coffee. I do this throughout the day too so I think I have really cut down on my leccy boiling the kettle, even tho I do try to only boil whats needed you still always end up with a little bit left in the kettlekonMarie and fabbing all the way

I'm another who whips the tea bags out, hate strong tea.
I do this even if I'm in a cafe as the tea can be quite brutal otherwise.
I do love tea pots though and have several dozen, been saving them for years.
All sizes, don't save novelty ones though.
I just like normal teapots in all designs and sizes from the dinky individual traditional little brown pot I use regularly to the huge cream Le creuset farmhouse pot that will never get used, looks lovely but I don't reckon I could lift it if it was full .
Theres something about tea in a pot that just tastes right.0 -
I use a flask to put hot water in - Its a tommy tippee one from when my little ones were babies. It it brilliant and keeps water hot for hours. I have 3 cups 1st thing (to make me feel human lol) so boil the kettle, make one cup and pour the rest in flask to make two more a bit later. Then in the afternoon i do the same - only boiling kettle twice rather than 6 times0

not sure what the point of making tea in a pot with bags is - tea leaves are soooo much better. I have an enamel vintagey pot and a china one for best! No cosy yet but got a book from the library on knitting tea cosies so have another project on the go now!
Years a go I had a fab pot with in insert for the leaves so ou could fish them out when it was brewed and not need a strainerPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I have been given off my grandad a large thermos flask and im just filling that up in the monring and it lasts well untill the next morning, a teapot would only be good for when people come around tohelp themselves, even when i have guests i make their tea from my flask as well.Trying to make big cut backs!!!
