Child Care Cost for Grandmother

I know this may be a silly question, but its been bugging me for a while... my mum currently looks after my son... just wondering, if she is entitled to any child care cost from the government?

thanks in advance

    I've been Money Tipped!
No ... she would need to be a registered childcare provider for you to be able to claim childcare related tax credits

If she is a registered childminder and looks after the child outside their own home and also looks after other children then I believe you can claim through tax credits which will depend on your income.
If she looks after the child in their own home and/or she is not a registered childminder then - no, if she wants paid then you would pay that yourself with no help from the taxpayers

    Or she could do this

She would not be able to look after your children at her home though, it would have to be your home.

I worked with a young lady who was a Nanny to a family and she registerd this way to enable the family to be able to caim some childcare costs.
