Hi
I have looked at the fairfx card and my parents have used them when we have travelled before but I am going to Australia for 6 months - 1 year and am a bit confused. The fairfx says I will get charged again as it will go from euros to aus$ so would i be better off with a bank card here instead? I will open a bank account as soon as I get to Aus as I want to work on the farms etc. Thanks Brad

Australian banks beat UK ones into shame when it come to the matter of charges, but you are going to have to live with that
You can get prepaid cards in $AUS - worth looking at those
Possibly best is a Travelex Global cash passport in sterling - the only charge is 1.49% at the point of exchange plus anything the ATM charges you. That's dirt cheap. Make sure it's the global - their other cards have higher charges, some hidden.0
