estate agents predictions for 2007

Hello all.

I was just after any advice from estate agents or associated people. What do you think will be the best areas for house price rises this year. Not so much areas of the uk, i mean more like areas of towns and cities. (or anything to look out for)

One person said (local quality estate agent predicts that the cheaper, terraced areas of towns will go up leaps and bounds in 2007!!)

would this be true or is there any other thoughts.

thanks.

    Depends where you are.

I'd suggest well-established areas and places with a need for family housing but a shortage of supply (for sale) will be fine. Terraced housing may rise, but only as a result of lack of supply and BTL money chasing them - the FTBs are almost on the bones of their backsides already and I feel a bit sorry for them as they are really struggling to get on the ladder and every day that goes by , they get closer to being at a possible peak and a possible helter skelter ride the other way.....

I'd look at prime commuter belt - depends on your budget, but if you had the leverage, I cannot see a large family house with good schools and good commuter links being a problem to sell next year - PROVIDED it's within an easy commute to London (although I can't wait to see what happens to those two teachers who have bought up half of Ashford now the Eurostar won't be stopping there much any more....).
