crafty supplies

Hi,
My toddler, 19 months old, loves sticking buttons, sequins, shapes, paper, stickers etc when we do crafty things, and i was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to buy cheap/reasonably priced supplies. She enjoys it so much that I want to keep a supply in the house, particularly for rainy days, but I can't afford to buy them at the sort of prices I have seen at Hobbycraft!
Any advice given will be gratefully received!!

Try The Works if you have one, or Yellow Moon catalogue is quite good too

Do you have any old clothes? My LO loved glueing scraps of different coloured fabric on boxes, you can find all sorts of tat in the £shop that kids love to play with, fluffy things and glitter, painted pasta necklaces?0

charity shops - they often have bags of buttons for sale or ask if they have any, sometimes they keep them upstairs! they often have craft items for sale too.
look in Wilkinsons - the stationary aisle has craft items at good prices.
ebay - look for 'craft supplies' or if you know the item you want such as buttons, feathers, peel offs etc search for those.0 -
not sure where you live, but if you have a range near you they have great cheap arty stuff, however, please make sure that you never ever leave your little one alone with any of these products.
(I'm not suggesting that you would btw)

Thank you, that is a brilliant idea. I've just been through my old clothes and there are some bits that aren't fit for the charity bags. What a great idea!
Thank you all for your replies, have given me some places to look. I bought a big box from ELC when they were on offer, but at full price it is not the best value and I want to keep the box topped up!0 -

We do have a range just up the road, I may walk up there in the morning now!
Knowing my daughter and how she puts anything and everything in her mouth I would never leave her alone!

Wilkos is good.
When my kids were younger I used to keep a plastic box full of coloured card/paper cut up into random shapes. Things like coloured envelopes from birthday cards etc, the inevitable pamplets that get delivered, the outside page of magazines, etc. They used to love rummaging through and sticking them down to make pictures. You might like to invest in a couple of cutters to cut out your own shapes for her (flowers, hearts etc).XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
My kids used to love the argos catalogue too. They would cut and stick to their hearts content and we used to stock up when the new season one came out.
Another recommendation for wilkos. Also macaroni/ pasta shapes and natures own goodies such as leaves/ acorns which are starting to fall from the trees now. We had an art box - well a great huge tub and nothing better than spending the afternoon crafting xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Keep old birthday and christmas cards and buy some scissors which cut out zig zag lines and things like that. You can cut out loads of interesting pictures and use them.
My OH uses madaboutcards as well, she's got loads of stuff very very cheaply in the sales at times and she said to sign up to the site (or newsletter or something) and then you get discounts on the pound range and other offers apparently.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
