Electricity contract through british gas
I am in a contract with british gas until September 2011, my deadline for notifying them i wanted to terminate the contract was 3 June 2011, I sent my letter but they said they didnt received it until 13 June 2011 and i have to enter into a new contract with them. They sent me details of the new contract which didnt arrive in time for my 14 days right to cancel. I have emailed them advising them that i was not happy and still wanted to cancel and asked them for a termination fee, i have had emails back from them saying they will contact me to sort problem out but im still waiting, almost a month later. Any one have any ideas what to do next and can i get out of the contract.

I get the impression that this may be a business contract. If I am correct these have completely different terms and conditions to personal energy. You usually have to give 3 months notice to them so unless you did it recorded you may not be able to prove dates.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
