MP3 player help

Can anyone help me. I bought my son a Technika MP3 player for christmas. Its a 256 mb one from Tesco. I have downloaded some tracks onto it for him and when i turn it on the screen stays blue and says technika all the time. I cant seem to get any menus up or anything - Is it me or is it the MP3 player. The manual that came with it is useless and im stuck. Thanks

Does the mp3 player support the files you uploaded to it?

How long have you waited? The mp3 player needs to index the files on its disk before playing them, should take less than 1 min though.
  • As kingmonkey says, you need to find out what format your songs are in. Your MP3 player will probably only play MP3 and maybe WMA.

Are your songs just ripped from CD's or are they legal downloads from the music sites? If they're legally downloaded songs, they're protected DRM WMA files and your MP3 player won't play them.

The more info you can give us the better.

Hello there thanks for that. I have ripped my cd's onto it. I cant get anything up on the MP3 player except the front screen saying the make. When i plug it into the UBS port, it shows up as a removeable drive and that all the songs have been transferred to it.

    thanks again

sounds like the "firmware" for the MP3 player that provides the player options and menus is corrupt (this can happen if the player is unplugged when in use or you have not clicked on the USB device icon in the bottom right of the screen and "stopped" the device)

there are normally files on the cd that came with it to fix this problem, take a look at the instuction manual, its probably under troubleshooting

noramally 2 stages, do first format, then do 2nd
