Redundancy notice

I'm in the process of being made redundant and in the latest consultation meeting the notice period for termination of my contract was mentioned. My employers are quoting a section from my original contract as follows:
Notice
During the first three months of the Employee's Employment two weeks notice must be given by either side to terminate employment.
After this period, unless the Employee's employment is lawfully terminated in accordance with the provisions of this agreement, one calendar months' notice is to be given by either side or any time during the fixed term to terminate employment
I have been in continuous employment with this company for over 7 years and understand that my normal Statutory rights are 7 weeks notice.
Could anyone advise which period is applicable - A statutory 7 weeks or does my contract supercede this and a calendar month apply?
Thanks

Statutory periods supersede contractual notice unless they are shorter - it is seven weeks.0

Don't forget when the seven weeks notice expires - if it trips over to complete another years service you will be owed 8 weeks.
The statutory notice does supersede contractual notice if it is greater.
Good luck
Have they given you a calculation for your redundancy pay - you can google on direct gov site they have a redundancy pay calculator - your age isimportant if u r over 41 it moves up to a week and a half's pay for each complete year o servic over 41, it is capped at £400 per week.
Good luck0 -
Thanks very much for your repies guys - Have gone throught the process now and job searching!!
There was nothing in my contract specifically referencing redundancy so it defaulted to Statutory conditions - Mind the company did initially try for a months notice, but after looking into it fully realised their mistake :-)
If anyone else is looking at redundancy before you do anything look at the Direct Gov website, really useful.0
