USDAW, the shopworkers union, gives grants to its members once they have completed Open University courses. The article is here:

65 quid for a 30 point course, and 130 quid for a 60 point course. This is about a third of the cost of the course, and certainly pays for your union fees!
If you are not with USDAW, check to see if your union does anything similar.
