Wookey hole of Cheddar Gorge?

Hi, I'm looking for some advice about which one of these 2 visit (can't afford both unfortunately.) I am taking my 3 kids aged 9 - 21 for 5 days to Somerset tomorrow-well actually we're staying in Bridgwater tomorrow night, then Burnham on Sea. I took my oldest to Wookey when she was little and her brother was just a baby, she really liked the caves and the paper mill, but my youngest now is Autistic and very energetic. The 15 year old lad gets bored easily (don't they all?) I have read that the weather is not going to be great from fri-to Mon so want to be planning ahead where we can go if the weather is just too awful to hit the pool or the beach. I also said I would go to the Clarks outlet village as both the older kids are interested in that. Any advice most welcome, thank you!
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

Although I prefer Cheddar myself, if I was taking kid it'd have to be Wookey.
For seafront places we went to Burnham a few years back and I was hugely disappointed - would say to head towards Minehead direction especially to keep kids entertained

sometimes the best time to go to the beach is in wellys and rain-coats - it's a totally different experience to go rock-pooling in the rain, than dry!

I visited both last week on my hols, Wookie is interesting as you get a tour through the cave with a guide, its a bit dark and slippery but quite good fun. There is a few other bits and bobs like old fashioned slot machines which you need to buy old pennies to play on, and large plastic dinosaurs. We spent 2 hours there and it cost us around £65 for 4 adults (I think child prices were up to 13yrs). Was it value for money? No, not in my opinion.

We went to Chedder but didn't do the caves because we have been before and we remembered Wookie was better. We walked down the main street with the shops in, some of them don't open till 12 o'clock, a couple were shut completely. They all sold the same thing (cheese and cider, with the odd tea towel and key fob) and were quite tired really. My honest opinion, don't bother going.

Western Supermare was good, there's a nice amusements at the end of the main pier but it's all about spending cash.

If you have a car and don't mind a bit of travel I would very strongly recommend Longleat. I felt a bit robbed on the way in paying £26 per person but it ended up being money very well spent, we arrived at 10am and didn't leave till after 6pm and was by far the best day of our holiday. It was probably the only time in the hols where my two 17years olds didn't complain about being bored all day.

If you go to Cheddar, theres a fun crazy golf course hidden behind some small shops half way up the hill (behind dolls house shop and small car park). Its only a couple of quid each to play and good fun for an hour.

On Sunday, drive to Midsomer Norton and you can enjoy the Mid Somerset Show (free to enter and just pay £9 for car park). They've also got The Wurzels on at 4.30pm.

Just an hours drive from BoS - you will need sta nav for this route.
