British gas Energy Click - what's happeded?

I'm confused, I applied to switch to British Gas Click Energy in novemeber - the cogs have been slowly turning and after 20 letters from BG I'm transisitoning to their normal account (at a much higher rate) - according to them you have to do this before registering online for Click Energy - already sounding fishy. I know they have put their rates up recently, but the Energy Click seems to have disappeared altogether - does anyone know what has happened? I'm stuck with their duff paper account now!
Thanks in advance.

They did this to me as well. You should be able to put in a conversion application to switch over to Click, but I tried that and it didn't work for me. I ended up switching again after getting sick and tired of chasing the issue.
  • When I applied online I forgot to tick the box that said I wanted to apply for Click Energy. When I called them to point this out, I spoke to a very helpful woman who said she would cancel my original application and set me up as a Click Energy customer. I must admit I expected to have far more problems with BG than I have actually had.

Quick tip though - take the name of the person you spoke to along with the date and time of the conversation as well as the gist of the conversation. If you sound as though you know exactly what you are talking about when you phone them, they are far more helpful.

To date, BG have been no worse than any other utility provider I have dealt with.

The option seems to have gone on their website, but you can still do it through Quidco and earn cashback.

You only get a fiver but hey, if you're planning to go on it anyway it's free money!
  • I registered for click energy in August and they finally got round to acknowledging my initial application yesterday. I've been with BG for maybe 2 months or so with no bill and no means of logging on to see my bill online. The email says that they will send another email as soon as my account is ready to view online...

You could be waiting a long time!! I gave up waiting for the click website to start working and switched after 4 months.

 Well I signed up at the start of May - transferred mid-June. I'm still waiting for access to my account, and a bill. Telephone, emailed, written, complained, written to energywatch, and still I don't have access to my account.
