HI all,
I was hoping for some paerls of wisdom!
I went to Indoensia in May to visit my sister-in-law. On the way back to the airport to return the the UK, I accidentally left my iphone in the cab.
Luckily it was a cab company and my SIL called them and got them to confirm that the driver had found the phone.
I took my flight home and the following day me SIL went to the cab office where the staff denied knowledge of having the phone (!!!!!)
Anyways several days and £70 of bribe money later (according to my SIL it was that or nothing), she got the phone back in her possession.
THe problem im having is x2:
1. whats the cheapeast way to get my phone back? gone are the days when you can ask strangers on a plane to "please take this to london - my relative is waiting for you on the otherside". DHL want £150 (according to my SIL) but will not send it with the SIM card. My SIL says that if I try to send it in the ordinary post for £50 - it will be stolen by post staff for sure. So does anyone have any other ideas?
2. Once I know how much it will cost, what is the cheapest way to send money to my SIL Indonesia to pay for the delivery? Do any of our UK banks have a special relationship with any of the Indoensian banks? i know when countries do that, people are able to send money between countries for free but I dont know if it exists with any Indonesian banks.
Its been three months without my phone now and if I have to pay over the odds for the phone then I guess I will - simply becasue its an iphone with all the photos I took on holiday there plus lots of other information I would hate to loose.
your ideas and answers are appreciated!
Many thanks

I cant help in terms of getting the phone back itself, but can your sis inlaw not take our the sim card and just post that to you in a letter, but back it up on her computer first incase it were to get lost in the post? Or upload the photos to her computer and then burn them on a cd to you?0

If you go to interlinkdirect(dot)co.UK you can pay by card for international shipments. if it will let you do it on there as tyres are restrictions etc.

I'll be in Jakarta in March, if you just tell me the address I can pop around
