Making an assumption that your annual spend has been correctly calculated by the Utility Company (!!) as 12* £67 =£804

On a "normal" usage pattern with those monetary amounts I'd expect you to be in a small deficit by next Spring EVEN WITH the current £100 credit - if you insist on the credit back I suspect they will whack your DD back up - possibly even more than the original £87 !!

kjsmithy is exactly right about the zero balance at the review date.

All suppliers have similar procedures, look online for yours. This is Edfs which is the one I'm most familiar with.

Although it doesn't say, the "annual" review date is set as the first April and annually thereafter. That is a fairly common annual review date for suppliers. It is difficult to assess payments accurately in the first "less than a year". After that there is no reason not to have a fairly accurate monthly payment. Which is not the same as saying that is what you will get if you don't police it. Take note of brewerdave's post.
  • I was in credit last spring and got a refund, I understand what you are saying but its my money and better in my account than theirs.
