I was told by Halifax that it had to be for 24 hrs - next time I will ask them to transfer it back during the same call. I assume that will work?
Personally I'd do it through online banking using a Web Saver Reward account.

I think the 24 hours is in respect of the first payment which triggers the full opening of the account.0
