Stamps

Am I right in thinking that you can get stamps at a cheaper price than at the post office? I seem to remember someone saying something about superdrug.

Or does anyone know other ways of keeping a charities postage costs down.

Costco sell them cheaper if you have a membership card and a shop near you, I think.

Some people have mentioned Ebay too, but be careful you don't get scammed!

stock up before the prices go up. Also buy the ones with '1' and '2' on them, and not the cost in pence.

True, but they only sell 1st class stamps (standard and large sizes) and we send most of our post 2nd class.

If you are sending reasonable volumes of mail, then it's cheaper (I think 1p per item) to send franked mail than stamped mail. I'd consider doing this, but I haven't got anywhere to put a franking machine in our office, plus it would be another bit of technology I'd be responsible for.
