Tx all for the reply.
I remember PPI as I refused to pay that while completing form for which they refused to offer loan. So I was forced to take PPI. I'll have to get the things fixed.
I haven't paid them for over 2/3 yrs. Initially when my financial situation was good, I used to pay.
This is so disgusting to know that after paying so much I still owe them more than what I borrowed. They keep on adding some silly charges like Sending letter, calling, or god knows what.
They are vultures!! shame on them!
Enough cursing
Any suggestions on how to settle it down?
Is it good to not pay now and wait for someone (the new owner) to initiate a kind of affordable solution?0 -

Then no wonder the charges and fees have racked up. These people don't go away when you ignore them, you know. By not paying anything for 2 or 3 years you have made your situation much worse.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

This is the sort of post that really gets my goat.
1/ YOU took out the loan
2/ YOU agreed to the repayments
3/ YOU agreed to the T&C's.
4/ YOU have stopped paying them.
5/ YOU have broken your end of the bargain.
Bet they weren't vultures when they helped and gave you a loan, when no one else would touch you with a barge pole.
When are YOU actually going to grow up and start acting like a responsible adult. Until you do, you just get many more years of deserved hassle and a completely destroyed credit record.0 -

Yeh! really! in same way Banks help you to open a bank account as you can't live without a bank account and then they charge overdrafts and other ridiculous charges.
I hope you are grown up enough not to have a single overdraft charges slapped to you. If it has been slapped then you know the pain and what I'm talking about.
They know their situation very well. No one goes to Welcome finance until all other options are exhausted. And they fully exploit this situation by forcing people to take PPI or refuse to give loan. Do you count this as "help"?0 -
Are so now you're blaming the banks for your own inability to manage your own finances.
Many people have bank accounts and are never hit by any charges, because they manage their finances well.
You seriously need to stop blaming everyone else and start taking responsibility, until then you'll carry on with a dreadful credit record.0 -

You seem to be very adept at pointing the finger of blame. Have you ever stopped to think about where the rest of your fingers are pointing?0 -

They don't force people to take PPI. Myself and a few of my friends (3 in total) have had to go down the WF route and none of us were forced to take PPI. Sure they'll try their hardest to sell it to you but we all just kept repeating the word no. Not one of us was refused a loan and one of my friends his HUGELY in debit and has a massive amout of defaults. I was surprised actually that she received the loan, but her % is sky high.
Yes, I would consider it help. You needed the money, you were given the money.0 -

I never pay bank charges, ridiculous or otherwise. In fact, the bank pays me about £12 a month on my current account (Lloyds Vantage). I am a pensioner with a modest income, but I live within my means and keep a decent balance in my account. I think I know who has to do the growing up.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

That's precisely the financial ineptitude which has led to your downfall.
The whole point of opening a bank account is to deposit money INTO it and spend it gradually over a period of time.
Before you have spent the amount you deposited, you put in some MORE money and the cycle continues.
It seems you opened a bank account as a means to spend not only your own money, but took the deicsion to start spending someone elses money (the banks).
Q. Lets assume there are no banks and you stashed it under a mattress. What would you have done when the money was gone?
A. You would have had to borrow from someone, so you would have had to pay interest on it, isn't that the same as an overdraft charge?
In either case, whenever you take a decision to spend someone elses money, there is a charge for doing so.
To whine now that nobody is giving you wads of cash for nothing is simply infantile.0
