Hi idt!:hello:
How are you hun?
quote=indeeptrouble
Thanks for the welcome.
No I received no warnings at all. That is why my union have just said 'go and enjoy the sunny weather - you'll be back in no time'. I guess that is easier said than done when you have that lying over you.
I know how worried you must be and I'm not dismissing it in any way angel. It certainly is easier said than done.
I hope that between the absence of either verbal or written warnings and your ten year tenure, that this will all go in your favour hun. Keep in touch with your union rep and maybe a visit, as I said, to CAB. You've done all you can for right now hun, so rest your mind a little and lay the weight down. It's okay to let it go for a little while sweetheart ~ torturing yourself won't do anything but hurt you.
As for the GP. You know after 4 years I wonder whether he thinks I'm trying to 'pull a fast one' and get more time off work. It is embarrasing to say the least. At the same time if he could just see what I'm like on bad days he would know I was serious. Some days I just cry and cry into my pillow. This is out of sight of my wife and lovely kids (although my wife understands and does help). For gods sake what is wrong with me. I have a lovely family, nice house, a bit of cash, car?? Sometimes I see some poor s*ds on tv. starving and I tell myself to snap out of it but I can't.
Regards

Cry as much as you want idt.It is a biological way of getting rid of the stress chemicals. Completely natural hun and actually good for you.;)
You are feeling what 99% of us feel about our mental ill health at first idt - embarrassed, even ashamed. You are ill and there's no shame in that hun.
Your mind is very powerful and it's always a good idea to start to stop the negatives getting through by correcting them with positives. Tell yourself 'I have nothing to be embarrassed about - I am genuinely ill.' Say it often, every day. I know it sounds ridiculous angel but it's a start. It can't hurt. Hopefully this will also lighten your burden hun.;)
Try and lay down all the things you can't change right now until the time comes when you can. It's a real hamster wheel hun - you get low and before you know it, nothing in your life is right. That's the ill health talking - there's no point in worrying about things you can't tackle right now. Your time needs to be spent on looking after yourself and getting some support so put down as much dead weight as you can.;)
Write down how you are on your bad days angel, and show it to the dr. As others have said, try and see another gp in the practice. Sometimes hun, you have to keep shouting until you're heard. It's not the way it should be and often, imho, this is what makes people worse as they have to fight or wait for the help they need when they're at their lowest.
Is this what the dr says to you angel or how you think he feels about you being off sick? I would have thought that after 4 years hun, that they would see there is a problem. If any medical professional thinks you're pulling a fast one as you put it hun, you'd have been told it by now. You can't fool all the people all the time as they say - your cover would have been blown.;)
You have nothing to be ashamed of hun.
Despite whatever your problem is, you have managed to have a successful marriage and children you love and a home and a car and a job. You've kept trying and surviving!:T
But these things can't measure you as a person hun. We judge ourselves harshly.
It doesn't mean that you've failed in some way just because you are very low, even though you have all these things. Depression for example, will go with anybody - it's a bit of a tart like that! One hasn't got much to do with the others angel.
There is nothing 'wrong' with you idt. 1 in 4 people will have some kind of experience with mental ill health hun.
Your pain is as valid as anyone else's pain. No-one has the right to tell you that it isn't. If you're hurting, then you're hurting!
Part of mental ill health is feeling what we should and shouldn't be, compared to other poor souls, imho. It's one of the last of the old taboos and another way for us to torture ourselves.
Turn it around the other way angel - what about all those who live in mansions and have everything they could possibly want - why do they deserve help? Why do they check themselves into clinics or have private treatment? Trust me angel, mental ill health doesn't discriminate!
Take some time hun, book that gp appointment and take it hour by hour if necessarily. The guys on here are giving you fantastic advice and you are not being judged. I hoped this helped even a little bit hun.Take care.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx

I have been feeling so crap recently. I really need help but
I was desperate this morning and called the crisis team-no-one answered then I called again and apparently they were out but could be paged. I just said 'oh don't worry, bye' I've sent a text message to the Samaritans but they don't seem to give any yes or no answer. I feel really sick.
