Leaving british gas

hi,

i am on websaver 8 with bg for electricty only and i am aware there is a £25 fee if i move.

is it possible to let bg know by email that i wish to move?
or is it by phone only?
i have put a application with npower in.

  • Response from BG depends on who you talk to. No change there then! I posted on another thread that I was told by a BG rep. that the switch has to be made before the 18th August to avoid cancellation fees which is contrary to info. on other threads.

    hi,

    i decided to send an email yesterday after the problems people were reporting by phone . some cs staff were badly informed.

    any way i got an email today saying they would cancel my acct and place a credit on my charge for £25 for the fee!

    result!!!

    You don't need to tell them that you are leaving-the new supplier does that, they will then contact you.
    What you needed to do was to reject the price increase within the timescale.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
