Sony Warranties

Is this true anyone?
Is it worth buying an extended warranty beyond the 1st year or would I be covered under Sale of Goods Act for 4 or 5 years more assuming " reasonable use".
Can anybody advise please.

The warranty with Sony (the manufacture) will cover what ever they say it does or doesnt after the first year as this is a freebie and not something they legally have to do.
Sony (the store) are responsible to the fact that the item has a reasonable life span (up to the max of 5 years). It is down to the courts to decide what the reasonable life span for an LCD TV is however.
As to if warranties are worth it or not is all down to how risk adverse you are. Personally my car is a lease so I am not legally responsible for its breakdown and everything else I own I could afford to go out tomorrow and buy a replacement so therefore dont feel the need for a warranty. Other people think that the cost is worth while to know that if anything goes wrong in the next X years it is a simple call to get it sorted out rather than potentially a very long battle in the courts which may not even go your way in the end anywayAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
