Switching from british gas
I am switching from British gas to npower tomorrow. I have given all my meter readings. I am currently in credit £150 with British gas. Does anyone no how long it will take for the refund to come through? British gas have confirmed there will be one.
Thanks in advance

Recently switched from BG, electric was last week and in credit. Money paid by BG into my account by BACS 3 days after final reading. Gas change was this week and hoping for similar result.
Switched from EDF a couple of years ago and think it was about 6 weeks and that was by cheque so well done BG0 -
OP I hope you are moving to a fixed tarrif with npower, otherwise your savings will be evaporating. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I am currently with British Gas and was looking to switch to fix.....
However, on checking, it was still going to cost me slightly MORE to switch and fix, than British Gas will be AFTER the price rises.
Gambling that wholesale energy prices should in fact come down slightly after tomorrows rise, I phoned British Gas to ask whether they could offer me anything to stay.
They offered me a £50 credit to stay for six months or £75 to stay for nine months - but with no tie in or penalties if I did leave.
So I've taken the £75 and if there does happen to be a second round of price rises I'll look at it again then ....
Hope that all makes sense....0 -
Yes I am fixing. Npower were already £7 cheaper. And that was without British gas' price increases, which were going to cost me another £11 a month. Which when I asked BG about they couldnt justify as I was £90 in credit after winter0
