I just put my house number and postcode into the BT broadband website and it was not recognised! How is that possible when I have a BT line in my house?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Are you sure you're not giving your postcode with a 0 where an O should be or vice versa? Or a similar number/letter error?
No the postcode is definitely correct, I put it into the Plusnet website and house number 2 came up, But no other houses on the postcode came up. (I'm number 4)
Edit: I put another postcode into the Virgin website to see what prices are in my area and its extortionate! Looks like I had a lucky escape, Thanks for all the advice.Best Wins 2011 - Samsung Galaxy Tab! 2012 - £1000 Ralph Lauren Gift Card!!! 2013 - Acer Aspire All in one PC, Sony Bravia 47" 3D TV 2014 - £250 voucher for Clarks
