Where is View command in Win7?

I expect there is a very simple answer to this but I have not found it. I have a new PC with Win7. I have a very large collection of photos stored as jpegs. Previously when I opened a folder of photos there was a view command within which I could view them as a list or as thumbnails. Where has this gone?

it's still there - top right corner underneath the search box0
-
Press ALT to get the traditional menu. ALT + V is what you're after.
There are also three other ways to change the view:- The 'Change your view' button on the top right panel (looks like a photo in a frame)
- The arrow button pointing down called 'More Options'
- Right clicking in the explorer window, but not on a file/folder - the resulting context menu has the View options
